KTH 786 BLACK MATT is single component high build, solvent based alkyd, matt finishing enamel. It has fast drying time, and gives smooth, very even matt finishing to painted surfaces. It is designed for wrought iron grill work. A suitable clear top-coat should be painted to protect 786 Black Matt for exterior weather-ability.
Applications
- As intermediate coat in a multi-coat coating system. Most suitable for use on wrought iron, steel, GI and others surfaces.

- Pigment: Carbon black pigment.
- Binder: Modified alkyd resin
- Solvent: Hydrocarbon
Physical Characteristics of the Paint
- Density: 1.20 – 1.26.
- Volume Solid: 64 ± 5%
- Viscosity: 63 ± 5 KU at 30°C
- Theoretical Coverage: 13 – 16 m2/litre
- Colour: Black.
Coating Properties
- Recommended Dry Film Thickness: 40 - 50 microns per coat
- Recommended Wet Film Thickness: 60 - 750 microns per coat
- Recommended Coating System: 1) AC 750 or AC 736 / 786 / 901 1K (or 905 2K PU) 2) AC 750 or AC 736 / 786 / 906 2K PU matt
- Recommended Numbers of coat: One to two
- Drying Time: Touch Dry – 15 minutes, Dry to handle – 1 to 2 hours
- Recoating interval: At least 8 hours
- Curing Time: 1 day
